DETROIT ARSENAL, WARREN, MI and FORT BLISS, TX – The U.S. Army’s inaugural Renewable Energy Rodeo and Symposium (RERS) is days away (June 8-9) and more than 100 prominent organizations have signed up to participate, demonstrate and discuss the latest energy technologies that could reap immediate benefits for the Nation.
Co-hosted by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command
(RDECOM) Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) and Fort Bliss, RERS serves to advance energy initiatives affecting all levels of the Department of Defense, from ground vehicles to installations.
During the two-day symposium, the latest mature technologies and innovations in renewable energy concepts and alternative fuel technologies will be displayed and demonstrated.
“We have an impressive array of organizations that are taking advantage of this rare opportunity to spotlight ‘ready for market’ energy efficient technology during the Energy Rodeo,” said Fort Bliss Commanding General Howard B. Bromberg “These exhibitors will connect with influential and prestigious decision makers within the government.”
National, regional and local companies will exhibit at Fort Bliss. A few of the companies scheduled to take part include:
General Electric – Among the technologies GE will display are the Southwest Windpower Small Wind Turbines; GeoSprings Hybrid Water Heater; Jenbacher Waste-gas-to electricity Engine; and the SunSpring Solarpowered water filtration system.
Sunovia Energy Technologies – A Sarasota, FL-based clean-tech company, Sunovia develops and markets energy-saving LED lighting products that reduce carbon emissions, promote national security and preserve the environment.
El Paso County GeoThermal Resource Evaluation and Exploration at Ft. Bliss – This innovative project will determine if and where, economically viable low temperature geothermal resources exist on Fort Bliss. The project is sponsored by El Paso County.
