Manhunt Monday - Man wanted for Theft of Property and Criminal Trespass
EL PASO COUNTY, TX– This week’s MANHUNT MONDAY Most Wanted Fugitive is an individual previously arrested in 2008 for the offense of Theft of Property >$1,500 <$20,000 & Criminal Trespass. He has been identified as MANUEL JESUS ROJAS(34) of Socorro, TX.
In the early morning hours of June 14, 2008, Deputies were dispatched to the El Paso County Roads & Bridges (Old Yard) located at FM 76 and SW Hunt in reference to theft in progress. Deputies arrived and apprehended MANUEL JESUS ROJAS stealing several items from the property. ROJAS was caught with over $17,000 worth of stolen property in the bed of his pick-up truck. Items taken during the theft were listed as 108 Guard Rail Bumb Out Stocks & 13 Street Light Heads which was property belonging to the County of El Paso, TX. ROJAS later confessed to authorities he used a hack saw to cut the chain & enter the property.
ROJAS has since failed to show for court & the warrants of arrest have been re-issued for his arrest for the offenses of Theft of Property >$1,500 <$20,000 & Criminal Trespass.
Authorities have been hot on the trail of ROJAS who has managed to elude capture. He is believed to remain in the Borderland hiding with friends & relatives.
Sheriff’s Investigator’s are asking the public - if anyone has any information on the whereabouts of MANUEL JESUS ROJAS to please contact the Sheriff’s Office (915) 546-2280 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous & may be eligible for a reward if the information provided leads to the apprehension of the individuals featured.
