The fire is in very rough, rugged terrain, and the area does contain unexploded ordnances. Due to these factors, firefighters are working on indirect firefighting strategies in order to ensure firefighter safety.
On Wednesday, air tankers continued multiple fire retardant drops, slowing the fire’s spread to the north. Firefighters are working along Soledad Canyon road and prepping the area for possible burn-out operations.
There is no threat to structures at this time.
CLOSURE NOTICE: Aerial support for helicopter operations is being based out of Dripping Springs.
The Dripping Springs Natural Area (DSNA) and Soledad Day Use Area are closed until further notice.
