EL PASO, TX- Beginning today May 23, 2011 through June 5, 2011, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) utilized a grant for SEATBELT ENFORCEMENT. The purpose of this push is to maximize the visibility of enforcement to the public focusing on drivers not wearing their seatbelts during the peak of the upcoming holiday traffic.
GOALS & STRATEGIES:
- To increase effective enforcement and adjudication of traffic safety-related laws to reduce fatal and serious injury crashes.
- To increase occupant restraint use in all passenger vehicles and trucks.
- Increase enforcement of occupant protection laws.
The enforcement program begins today 05/23 & continues through the Memorial Day Holiday weekend until Sunday, June 5, 2011.
