‘Tis the Season for Flu and other Vaccines

El Paso, Texas – With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season upon us, the City of El Paso Department of Public Health continues help make sure that all El Pasoans have the opportunity to get up-to-date on their vaccines, and that children are protected from the flu this season.  Together with Sun Metro, the Department is providing vaccines to local commuters as they brave the crowds and the cold weather.

“For many, this season brings with it plenty of stress which can put a strain on our immune system.  That sensitivity, coupled with the fact that the cold often forces us to be in confined spaces with more people who may have the flu, makes a vaccine all the more important,” said Goya Garcia, Immunization Program Outreach Coordinator.

At this time, clinic staff is providing the flu vaccine free of charge for children between zero and 18 years of age.  The Department encourages adults to get a flu vaccine from their primary health care provider or from one of various retail outlets. In addition, staff will be providing: DTAP, HEP A, Polio, MMR, Varicella, MCV,  and HPV.  The public is invited on:
