What: Weatherization project
Who: District 9 High School Student Council Members
Where: Apostolic Assemble Church-1313 Las Pampas
When: Saturday, February 21, 2009 9 am – 1 pm
Area high school students will spend Saturday morning helping the Apostolic Assembly Church. The students who are members of area high school student councils are working on a weatherization project for the facility. They will be adding weather stripping to improve energy efficiency as well as painting and cleaning up the area.
This is the 10th year Montwood High School has coordinated the weatherization project and has worked with area shelters and community centers to become energy efficient. Montwood students as a member of the Texas Energy Education Development board have learned how to insulate water heaters, caulk windows and doors and protect gaskets on electrical sockets to help reduce costs and decrease energy use.
